Travelling from North Wales
Passengers travelling from North Wales should join the A55, then the A494 to connect with the M56 eastbound. The airport is signposted on the A494 and the M56. Leave the M56 at Junction 12 following signs for Liverpool Airport, travelling over the Mersey Gateway bridge. Follow the A561 until the junction with Speke Hall Avenue, and then turn left, following signs to the airport.
PLEASE NOTE: The Mersey Gateway is a tolled bridge, with no barriers but using number plate recognition and tolls must be paid on line either in advance or immediately after using this crossing. Rapid Charging Point for Electric Vehicles
Our rapid electric charging points are located in the Long Stay car park, near to the Multi-Storey car park and disabled spaces. To use the ecotricity/Electric Highway charging points simply download their app to your smartphone.
If you are visiting the airport specifically to charge your car, car park charges are not applicable. On arrival at the airport, you must take a ticket at the entrance to the Long Stay car park. Once you have finished charging your car you will need to present the entrance ticket and your charge card to the car park kiosk on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park for validation. Parking charges can only be waived for stays of up to 1 hour, with no return within 24 hours.
Motorcycles
Motorcycles are able to park free of charge in the Express Drop Off in the designated, outdoor spaces. Please note that these spaces are limited and cannot be reserved.
Liverpool John Lennon Airport cannot accept responsibility for any passengers that miss their flight due to traffic problems, or because they didn’t allow sufficient time for the checking in and security processes.
Public Transport Directions
Rail
Liverpool South Parkway is the closest rail station to Liverpool John Lennon Airport and is located approximately 3 miles from the airport itself. Transport is available between the airport and the rail station via the 80A and 86A bus services which operate up to every 20 mins. The station is also easily accessible from elsewhere in the country and has direct rail links to Warrington, Cheshire, Manchester, Yorkshire, East Midlands, West Midlands, East Anglia and connections to London Euston services at Runcorn or Crewe.
The opening of the Halton Curve line in 2019 has also greatly improved public transport access between the Airport, North West Cheshire and North Wales, with direct services between Chester and Liverpool South Parkway, and one-change services from Llandudno Junction, Shrewsbury and Wrexham General.
