Anglesey
Go Anglesey! Explore an island rich in history and beauty
The Isle of Anglesey has got the lot. Its coastline is as varied as it is spectacular – it has everything in its 125 miles. Discover beaches and cliffs, tiny fishing coves and busy ports. Learn about shipwrecks and tales of derring-do, legends of Princes and Princesses, and tragic lovers. Anglesey’s colourful history is on show, too. Cycle a country lane and you encounter a mysterious burial chamber or an old windmill. Tour its near-empty roads but be ready to stop every few moments – a sea or mountain vista catches your breath, a country pub promises a delicious lunch, or the volcanic-like landscape of the world’s once largest copper mine simply demands exploration on foot, and a lot of photographs. There are lakes for fishing or quiet contemplation. Tread carefully in Anglesey’s forests and look out for squirrels – they’re the native red. If that’s all too hush and you want a bit more action, we have watersports galore at Rhosneigr, and even a race circuit along the coast.
The only way to experience this and everything else Anglesey has to offer is to come and stay. Spend a few nights in an Anglesey hotel or a week in a cottage. Take time to relax into the island’s slower pace and be taken in by its easy charm. Whether you’re a beach-lover, a watersports enthusiast
