About
Yr Wyddfa is the highest peak in Wales and at 1085m/3560ft high, it's a tough climb to reach the summit, whichever path you choose. However, you are rewarded with tremendous views over the coast and northern Eryri from its lofty heights. If the cloud obscures the fine views from the summit, as it often can, there is still plenty of exciting mountain terrain to view around you.
Crib Goch (Red Ridge) is the most challenging of Yr Wyddfa's peaks. Standing at 923m in its own right, the ridge offers splendind Grade 1 scambling options and a beautiful and impressive narrow arete to handrail up to its summit. the journey continues over the equally exciting Crib Y Ddysgl to ascend Garnedd Ugain (1065m) on the Yr Wyddfa ridgeline.
*This route is not for beginners in the mountains and is weather dependant. Should the weather be too adverse then we will use a different route instead.*
The best place to park is in Llanberis, we will share the exact location after booking.
After meeting at 7.45am, we aim to summit around lunch time and be back in Llanberis around 4pm. There's ample opportunities for tea and cake at the foot of Yr Wyddfa, as a reward for your achievements!
