Anglo Welsh has been providing quality narrowboat holidays for almost 60 years.  The company offers the choice of 150 boats for hire from 9 bases across England and Wales.  Boats range in size from cosy narrowboats for two, all the way up to boats for up to twelve people.  Choose from three-night weekend breaks, four-night mid-week holidays, week-long or two-week cruises.

Anglo Welsh's canal boat hire base at Trevor is next to Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, which carries the Llangollen Canal 38 metres high above the River Dee.  In 2009, the Aqueduct was granted UNESCO World Heritage status, putting it on a par with the Taj Mahal and the Egyptian pyramids! It's part of a breathtaking 11-mile stretch of the Llangollen designated a World Heritage site. This section runs from Gledrid Bridge near Rhoswiel, to the Horseshoe Falls in Llantysilio, on the River Dee.

From Anglo Welsh's narrowboat hire base at Trevor, you can hire a self-drive canal boat and cross the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct for the experience of a lifetime.  On a short break you can continue on to Ellesmere, in the heart of the Shropshire Lake District, or head back to Llangollen.  On a week's holiday, you can cruise on along the Llangollen Canal to Whitchurch, Wrenbury or Barbridge.  On a two-week break, you can navigate the Four Counties or Cheshire ring. You don't need a licence to drive a canal boat and tuition is included.

From Trevor, Anglo Welsh also offers self-drive day boat hire, with prices starting at £120 per day for a boat for up to 10 people during the week, and £199 on weekends and bank holidays. Tuition is included.

For those who prefer to sit back and enjoy the view and let someone else drive, Anglo Welsh also offers regular skippered cruises across the Aqueduct aboard its trip boat 'Little Star' ('Seren Fach'). Tickets can be booked at Little Star Booking | Anglo Welsh Ltd.
