Target Markets

  • Marketed as green/environmentally friendly - Sustainability at The Old Coach House Bed & Breakfast At The Old Coach House, we are dedicated to sustainability and continuously seek ways to enhance our eco-friendliness. Here are the measures we’ve implemented and our plans for the future. Current Sustainable Practices Recycling – We encourage our guests to assist us by separating plastics, cardboard, cans, glass, and food waste. Bins are provided for this purpose. Energy Conservation – We promote turning off lights and electrical devices when they are not in use. All our light bulbs are LED and energy efficient. Reducing Plastic Waste – We have removed single-use plastic bottles from guest rooms, opting for reusable glass bottles for milk and water. Towel Management – Towels are only changed upon request, and laundry is done in full loads, hung to dry on the washing line. We use laundry balls in the dryer to fluff towels for just a few minutes. Eco-friendly Cleaning – We utilize Purdy and Figg products, which are made from 100% natural, non-toxic, plant-based ingredients. Homegrown Flowers – Our guest rooms feature seasonal flowers from our own garden. Renewable Energy – Our roof is fitted with solar panels that keep the heat store at a steady temperature of 40 degrees. As a result, we only need to supplement it with our boiler or wood burner. Breakfast Preserves – We now serve breakfast preserves in self-serve dishes, replacing single-use plastic containers. Insulation – Our house is well-insulated for energy efficiency. Future Goals • Toiletries – We plan to introduce refillable toiletries in our guest rooms. • Rainwater Harvesting – We aim to implement rainwater harvesting systems. • EV Charging – We intend to install an electric vehicle charging unit. Community Involvement and Recognition Litter Picking – We regularly engage in litter picking along our garden riverbank and during hikes on the beaches we visit.
  • Special provisions for cyclists - Secure storage for bikes and any other outdoor pursuits equipment
  • Special provisions for lone female travellers
  • Special provisions for walkers - Drying room for walkers kit
