Glamping at the Slate Caverns, North Wales’ newest luxury accommodation, on the site of Llechwedd Slate Caverns and Zip World has been awarded Visit Wales’ Gold Award for accommodation - only the eighth of its kind to win the prestigious award.
Completed in May 2018, Glamping at the Slate Caverns was built for visitors who want to stay in accomodation that mixes camping in one of the most beautiful areas of the United Kingdom with all the luxuries you’d expect of a high quality hotel.
Within walking distance of The Slate Caverns, Zip World and Antur Stiniog, and just a short drive from Betws y Coed, Snowdon and Surf Snowdonia, the safari tents have proven extremely popular over the Summer season, selling out in a matter of weeks after they were opened.
Of the Gold award, a spokesperson for Llechwedd Slate Caverns said: “We are delighted here The Slate Caverns that all the hard work and dedication shown by our team has paid off with this Visit Wales Gold Award. We're proud to have made it to the list as a glampsite - one of very few in the whole of Wales.
“This award will give us the confidence as well as a high bar of quality as we move towards the next phase of accommodation at The Slate Caverns; the opening of a new four star hotel and restaurant on site, at the former home of the Greaves family - Plas Weunydd”
Glamping at the Slate Caverns is open throughout September and October. To check availability for 2018 and 2019, visit llechwedd-slate-caverns.co.uk
