If you’re planning a holiday on the Lynn Peninsula in North Wales, Ysgubor Degwm is the perfect base, just 4 miles from Pwllheli, 5 miles from Criccieth, and 11 miles from Abersoch. With its five bedrooms that can sleep ten, a heated indoor swimming pool, and a tennis court, this expansive medieval barn is both charming and impressive. As you step onto the ground floor, a large kitchen diner greets you, equipped with ample fridge, freezer, and pantry space. In the kitchen, the dining table can accommodate ten people. We have both high chairs and chair covers for children.

Next to the kitchen is the utility room, equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer, shower, and WC.

With its high ceiling and inviting ambiance, the lounge is a stunning room to relax in. Eight sofas and two armchairs surround the wood burning fire for the entire party. Enjoy streaming content on a smart TV to unwind after a day of adventures. In the lounge, you’ll find the main dining table that can accommodate twelve people and has comfortable chairs for long, sociable suppers.

The snug is an additional sitting room furnished with sofas and armchairs that can accommodate six people. The room is equipped with an electric fire and a smart TV that provides streaming services.

There are three bedrooms on the first floor’s east wing - two super king bedrooms (one with en suite) and a twin. There is a shared shower room between the super king and twin room. In the west wing on the first floor, you’ll find a king bedroom and a bunk bedroom for two. On the ground floor of the west wing, there is a family bathroom featuring a copper bath.

Our garden features a heated indoor swimming pool, located in a separate enclosure near the main barn. The swimming pool at Ysgubor Degwm is reserved exclusively for our guests. Additionally, the expansive garden offers amenities such as a tennis court, wood-fired pizza oven, outdoor cinema, table tennis, bbq, garden lounge, and al fresco dining. There are bikes available you are welcome to use during your stay.  

 

 

Kitchen 
In the kitchen, you’ll find a comfortable space with an abundance of crockery, cutlery, kitchen gadgets, serving dishes, boards, and pantry staples. The main kitchen features an Everhot range, dishwasher, American fridge freezer with ice and water, and a second fridge. There are also pantry cupboards, a Quooker Tap for instant boiling water, as well as appliances like a toaster, toastie maker, stand mixer, hand mixer, and blender. Ten people can comfortably sit at the kitchen table. We provide a trip-trapp high chair (including a baby set) and chair covers for guests who have young children. 

Lounge
The lounge is a visually striking room, featuring exposed beams and preserving the original barn characteristics with an open apex. Three sofas and two armchairs create a cosy seating area around the log burning stove. Enjoy access to various streaming services on a smart TV. Including French doors on both sides creates a light atmosphere in the room. The front of the barn is accessible through one set of doors, while the patio and garden lounge can be reached through the other set. There’s a selection of books, board games, and jigsaw puzzles available in the lounge and snug. You’ll find a small basket of toys in the lounge area. Bose speakers are perfect for music enthusiasts.

Dining Room
The main dining table can be found at the end of the main lounge. With ample seating for twelve, the table is equipped with comfortable chairs, perfect for leisurely evening dinners. 

Snug / Study
In the second sitting room, you’ll find a serene and comfortable atmosphere, complete with two sofas, an armchair, an electric stove, and a smart TV. You’ll find a wide variety of books, board games, and jigsaw puzzles in this room. The smart TV offers multiple streaming choices for you to enjoy. If you need to print tickets for local attractions, there’s a printer in this room. 

Bedrooms

Each bedroom comes with high-quality white linens and towels. 

 

Bedroom One 

The master bedroom is a large and roomy space. This room includes an ensuite shower room, a super-king bed, wardrobe, vanity, chaise, and armchair.

Bedroom Two
Enjoy stunning views towards the sea from the luxurious king-size bedroom. In this room, you’ll find a super king bed that can be changed into two twin beds, along with a wardrobe, vanity, and armchair. The shower room is shared between this room and bedroom three. 

Bedroom Three
Enjoy a view of the hills from the twin bedroom. The room includes two twin beds that can be transformed into a super-king bed, along with a wardrobe, vanity, and armchair.

Bedroom Four
Enjoy the sight of the sea from the king-sized bedroom. The room includes a king bed, wardrobe, vanity, and armchair. Bedroom four and bedroom five have a shared family bathroom. Bedrooms four and five can be found at the western end of the barn.

Bedroom Five
The bunk room is perfect for kids. The room is equipped with bunk beds that can sleep two people, along with a window seat, clothes rail, and drawers. You’ll find multiple children’s books in this room for you to enjoy.   

Bathroom
Inside the barn, there is a family bathroom with a copper bath, hand-held shower, toilet, and sink. Additionally, there is a shower room with a shower, toilet, and sink, an ensuite with the same amenities for the master bedroom, and a utility room with a shower, sink, and toilet.   

Garden Kitchen
You can easily step out onto the patio from the garden kitchen, ideal for dining alfresco. The kitchen has plenty of dishes, utensils, and modern appliances like an electric hob, oven, fridge, and dishwasher.

Outdoor Dining
The garden features an outdoor dining space that can accommodate ten people, equipped with a gas BBQ and a wood-burning pizza oven. Enjoy sunny days on the Llyn at the main patio dining table, which is sheltered by a pagoda and retractable sail shade. The orchard has a second dining set, perfect for those who prefer the natural shade of the trees.   

Swimming Pool
With its own enclosure in the garden, the heated swimming pool provides the perfect combination of outdoor enjoyment and protection from the elements. The pool room contains many pool toys. Only guests staying at Ysgubor Degwm may use the pool. The swimming pool is 9.5m x 4.5m and is 1.2m deep.

Tennis Court
In the garden is a full-size hard-court tennis court. We have provided tennis racquets and balls for you to use. The tennis court has a basketball hoop and ball.  

 

Table Tennis

You can play ping-pong is on the lawn with our outdoor table tennis setup.

Garden 
The mature gardens are perfect for amusements like football goals, boules, croquet, and badminton. The orchard by the barn is perfect for relaxation, while the lawn is perfect for play. Ysgubor Degwm offers a variety of bicycles for guests to use. 

Parking
The drive leads to a large private parking area. There are ample room for six cars - and plenty of room to turn.

We provide quality white bed linens, white towels, robes and leisure towels.
